Nokia N900 will have support for Quad-band GSM, HSDPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It will be powered by Smart Tablet 2008, based on Maemo.

On January 2009 Dr. Ari Jaaksi revealed a pre-alpha SDK of Maemo 5.

Some of the news are:

online anywhere with cellular connectivity over HSPA for broadband anywhere

powerful computing with TI OMAP3 processor – for better performance and better graphics performance

photo sharing with hi-def camera – imaging and photo-sharing

Nokia is now Gold Sponsor of Linux Foundation, has contributed code today for 3G/HSPA cellular (data) connectivity for OMAP3 to Linux kernel

As Nokia N800 and Nokia N810 were criticized about the big sizes, it seems the N900 will be a bit smaller, just like iPhone, with a 3.5″ display.

About the storage, Nokia may have 16GB internal storage capacity, as well as a miniSDHC slot to extend it to your needs.

The web browsing will be done using an Internet Browser from Opera, supporting all common standards.

This will be also used for streaming and sharing the videos from/to YouTube.

Of course there will be usual communication applications, like calling and messaging features (SMS, MMS),

e-mail, instant messaging and even Skype.

The Nokia N900 price will be around $750 and we hope to find it on store shelves in 2009.

Will this be enough to beat the competitors, like Apple iPhone and the Android G1?

What do you expect from the Nokia future tablet? We are waiting for your comments.
